Abstract
Objective: to describe the cases of syphilis in pregnant women notified on Brazil’s Health Information System (Sinan) between 2007 and 2017, residing in an Administrative Region (AR) of the Federal District (DF), Brazil. Methods: retrospective descriptive quantitative epidemiological study using secondary data extracted from the Sinan database. The period considered for data extraction was the years between 2007 and 2017. Results: 51 cases of syphilis were reported in pregnant women, and the mean detection rate of syphilis in pregnant women was 6.9 for the evaluated AR. The most of individuals have incomplete primary education. The predominant clinical forms were tertiary syphilis and primary syphilis. Conclusion: despite the timely diagnosis, there was a progressive increase in the number of inadequate treatments.
