Abstract
The article presents a study that aimed to analyze the place of the family in the structuring of Brazil's Health Policy, especially in the Family Health Strategy. The qualitative research used bibliographical and documentary research as methodological procedures, as well as interviews with social workers working in primary care in Belo Horizonte/ Minas Gerais. The tendency was to see a family approach that does not conceptualize or problematize the concept of the family in its relationship with health, despite the expanded view of its links and diversity.
