ON LEADING A RESEARCH GROUP IN HIGHER EDUCATION: EXPERIENCE REPORT

Abstract

Objective: to describe the leadership activities of the Group of Research Knowledge, Nursing and Health of the Population in the 2018/2019 biennium. Method: This is an experience report based on the group's minutes records. Results: The group was created seven years ago, and since then, it has been developing activities to boost science and technology in the Northeastern semi-arid region. With monthly meetings, it has been conducting courses and events to improve knowledge in nursing, which brings benefits to undergraduate students and in their production of Course Conclusion Papers, Scientific Initiation Projects, and others. Final considerations: It is necessary to encourage the participation of undergraduate students and the creation of a postgraduate program for the group to consolidate and establish itself in scientific production on the national scene.
