Abstract

To evaluate the distribution of diagnostic imaging equipment in Brazil, Brazilian states and federative unit through time series and comparison with per capita income. Methods: Ecological study using the DATASUS database from year 2006 to 2017. A linear regression was performed to compare time versus equipment by region and per capita income versus equipment by states. Results: A large increase in the rate of diagnostic imaging equipment was observed, with values higher than those recommended by the Ministry of Health. However, it has been shown that per capita income is strongly correlated with the amount of equipment available. Conclusion: The rate of diagnostic imaging equipment is adequate in most Brazilian states, but there is an uneven distribution, influenced by per capita income, with a higher number of equipment in higher income states.
